E-Commerce India - Deals, Deals and Deals for Indians

Who doesn't like deals? All those deal sites which mushroomed (and some are closed as well) in the last couple of years offer deals in different locations in India and have very little difference in terms of features. Some of them offer a specific deal only for a time-frame while the others offer deals only in a specific category. The concept does not vary much, though. Here are more deal sites:

  1. http://www.Mydala.com
  1. http://www.crazeal.com
  1. http://www.Timesdeal.com
  2. http://www.Getithotdeals.in
  3. http://www.Coupon2buy.com
  1. http://www.Offersforshoppers.com
  1. http://www.Buzzr.in
  1. http://www.Discountpandit.com
  1. http://www.Dealmandi.com
  1. http://www.Dailydeal.in
  1. http://www.Dealsandyou.com
  2. http://www.Dealivore.com
  1. http://www.Khojguru.com
  1. http://www.Thekha.com
  2. http://www.24Hoursloot.com
  3. http://www.Lootmore.com
  1. http://www.Bindasbargain.com
  2. http://deals.ebay.in

With so many products / services in offer across India and so many people buying them, deals would certainly be of interest if they correspond to online sale or the ones in my living area. The number of products / services seems to be very less as of now. Also the categories of deals are odd - how many spa treatments would people take compared to the number of sales of latest gadgets? Why don't these sites offer more latest gadgets or things like that, which provide real value to the customers?

I wonder when there would be deal sites for tier-2 and tier-3 cities in India !

E-Commerce India - Who doesn't like deals?

Though not well known in India, deal coupons (sent by post) are quite popular in advanced countries like USA. The coupons - which offer good discount on the products or services they offer - are put into mailboxes. The receiver can redeem these coupons, if he  wants to purchase those products / services, thus getting the 'deal'.

The same concept has turned online now. The deals are offered in various segments like Restaurants, Health & Beauty, Gadgets and Travel. The one who offers the deals is typically a 3rd party - between us and the vendor giving the actual deal. This 3rd party would strike a contract with various vendors to take their products / services to the end-customer. In this endeavour, the 3rd party cuts his commission from the deal, the vendor gets to sell more and the end customer has a good bargain. It's an 'all-win' situation. http://dealandyou.com in one such deals site in India. There are many more which cropped-up in India after initial success of the first few. I am making a list of them and shall publish them shortly.

Did anyone try deals from any deal sites recently? What was your experience?
